Kat Bell joined the Dance Heritage Coalition as Project Director in April 2013. Kat first worked with the DHC in 2011 through a Save America's Treasures grant and Mellon funding for which she created an inventory of the archive at the Dance Theatre of Harlem (DTH), which included more than 3000 moving images, 1500 audio items, and over 400 entries for paper materials and artifacts. Before rejoining the DHC, she recently assisted the DTH archivist in installing their traveling exhibition at the University Museum at Texas Southern University in Houston. She served as the Tobin Fund Intern in the Theatre Arts at the McNay Art Museum in San Antonio, Texas, and also worked with Texas Woman’s University’s Woman’s Collection as Digital Archives Technician where she added over 1000 digital objects to the Whirly-Girls digital collection. She has also held internships with Hamon Arts Library at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, and the National Museum of Dance in Saratoga Springs, New York. She holds a Master in library science and MA in dance, both from Texas Woman's University.
