Kristin MacDonough is the Coordinator for the AV Artifact Atlas, a community-based online resource for the audiovisual archiving field used to identify and describe visual anomalies found in audio and video signals. The AVAA is hosted by the Bay Area Video Coalition. She serves as a co-director of XFR Collective, a volunteer-run organization based in New York City, where she has worked as a preservation and archival consultant for independent content creators and caretakers of AV materials to help them preserve and make these works accessible. She works with non-profit organizations such as Standby Media, New York Women in Film and Television, and Elevator Repair Service Theater, and has conducted project based work with New Museum (XFR STN exhibition), Deep Dish TV, Seahorse Films, and the Fundacion Patrimonio Filmico Colombiano. Kristin received her MA from New York University’s Moving Image Archiving and Preservation program in 2013.
