This session consisted of a demo of the workbench software, followed by questions and answers.
The workbench is METS-based collection preparation software for repositories. It has a unique metadata crosswalk feature, which allows custom batch migration of tabular metadata to the MODS schema without scripting.
For more information about the workbench, see this page: http://www.lib.unc.edu/blogs/cdr/index.php/2010/12/01/announcing-the-curators-workbench/
The Curator's Workbench is actively developed at UNC Chapel Hill and is freely available, open-source software. http://www.lib.unc.edu/software/
