Last but not least, would it be possible at this point to create a "DP-in-a-box" that would allow a non-expert to implement the essential components of digital preservation? (What are these components? Do there exist viable free open-source tools to support them?)

After earning a PhD in Psychology, I pursued careers in vision research and in imaging product development. After earning an MS in Library Science, I joined Boston College in 2007 as a Digital Imaging Librarian. Besides managing our digitization facilities, I am also in charge of our programs on Electronic Theses & Dissertations and Digital Preservation.

Here are some questions that I have been thinking about:

How does one preserve a blog, e.g. "[Wild Horses of Fire]http://whof.blogspot.com/2013/09/on-contemporary-practice-pdf-archive.html" ?

How does one preserve a Facebook account?

What is the best way to preserve a large personal collection of email?

Is there anything available specifically for poets, to preserve their own "archive" of born-digital poetry?

Last but not least, would it be possible at this point to create a "DP-in-a-box" that would allow a non-expert to implement the essential components of digital preservation? (What are these components? Do there exist viable free open-source tools to support them?)
