Chad Garrett, M.A., is Director of Technology and Digital Initiatives for the Collections and Archives division at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He oversees technology strategy, budget, personnel, and partnerships for the three units that comprise the division. In addition, Garrett has direct responsibility for the digital archives and preservation program, as well as social media and web programming, for the university's Center for Arkansas History and Culture. He recently participated in the DigCCur Professional Institute and set up the Center's new Digital Services Lab, which provides tools and support for preserving analog audio, video, and documents, as well as born-digital materials. In addition, he teaches college-level writing classes from Composition to Technical Writing. Garrett's 20 years in information technology have included work as a technical writer, web designer/developer, systems & server administrator, trainer, and manager/leader. He has spearheaded all five virtual exhibits for CAHC and has set up and manages the Archivists' Toolkit and CONTENTdm systems and processes.
