a rare bit (n.) — one in a sequence of ones and zeroes that meets selection criteria for preservation in order to be remixed and re-used until the end of its lifecycle.
My interests bridge special collections, metadata, and digital preservation. In 2013 I graduated from the School of Information and Library Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Master of Science in Information Science degree and began work as the Digital Initiatives Librarian at the Z. Smith Reynolds Library at Wake Forest University.
