I am a library associate II at Georgia Tech. I have worked for nearly 20 years as a cataloger at the University of South Carolina and the Institute of Paper Science and Technology. For the last 8 and a half years, I've worked in the Scholarly Communication and Digital Curation Services department at Georgia Tech.

My job can be described as a metadata specialist. I have created thousands of metadata records for SMARTech our institutional repository which is an instance of Dspace. I've done extensive copyright research for Georgia Tech authored papers and proceedings. I also help get our ETD records batch loaded from an ETD database into the institutional repository. This is a joint effort with the graduate office, our IT department, and the cataloging department as well as another metadata specialist in my department.

I will be attending CURATEcamp 2012 at Georgia Tech. I'm very much looking forward to the event. Some topics that I am interested in dicussing are: Shiboleth, Symplectic, Vireo, and Hydra.
