Kate Murray is the Digitization Process Development Specialist in the National Archives and Records Administration's (NARA) Digitization Services Branch where she is involved with standardizing, documenting and streamlining the division’s products and services for all media types. She has been involved with creating and maintaining digital dynamic media collections for over a decade, serving first as the Digital Projects Coordinator at University of Cape Town, South Africa, later as the Audio and Visual Media Conservator at Emory University, and immediately prior to joining NARA, as the Audiovisual Archivist at University of Maryland College Park Libraries. Before making the switch to audio and visual materials, she served as the Collections Conservator for NYU Libraries for over eight years. She is the current co-chair of the Association of Moving Image Archivists (AMIA) Preservation Committee. Kate received her undergraduate degree in medieval literature from Columbia University and her MLS from the University of Cape Town
